The Process that Precedes the Preparation
(Inserts from Ps Bill’s book – The One Eyed King)
Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses – Joshua 1:3
In the land of the blind, the One-Eyed man is King!
Becoming a King or Leader is not an overnight transition. It is a process. Academic degrees and training alone are not enough to fulfil your future. Life experience leads to leadership preparation and entrance into a life that is already prepared for you. Knowledge can only be transformed into power when that knowledge is absorbed and incorporated into your personal life.
The concept of the One Eyed King relates to the process that we go through, regardless of our limitations and weaknesses in order to become all that we are meant to be.
Joshua was a One Eyed King – He was not afraid, he understood the importance of learning servanthood. He was happy to serve God by serving Moses. His preparation under Moses eventually prepared him for a promotion that was critical in the history of the Jewish people.
How we serve under a leader will determine how we serve as a leader
A One-Eye King is always the best choice for a leader. I am sure that Joshua did not feel prepared or worthy. But in spite of his fears and insecurities, he was the right man for the job.
The Promised Land was already prepared for Joshua’s leadership. A leader was needed who understood proper authority, not an apprentice and one who isn’t afraid of a challenge.
If you spend time in preparing to be the right person…God will bring you the right person.
I have learned that your gifts will open the door for you, but you have to have enough character to discover the power and the strength to stay in the room. It is God's power and wisdom that has brought me to this place.
Life is a process. But God gives us Hope that through the process we will reach the place that’s been prepared for us.
Last Thought: That all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever. – Joshua 4:24
