Pursue your Dream

Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed. Genesis 37:5-6

As a young man Joseph had a dream that brought much jealousy to his brothers. But his dream was a metaphor of life’s journey Joseph was about to embark on.

We all have Dreams. We may not verbalize it, but in our heart there’s an innate desire to accomplish something greater than ourselves. Our Dreams tell us a lot about who we are. 

Have you ever thought about how some people are more successful than others? However, success is accomplishing an aim or being purposeful and has little to do with money or material value.

Pursue Your Dream with Perseverance!

The two hardest things in life are starting and finishing. It was once said “It’s not how you begin that counts; it’s how you finish” This wise person juxtaposed between these two points with the act of perseverance. Your perseverance would either allow you to make an impression or an impact. 

Don’t give up on what God has placed in your heart. You have to keep going. At times it may seem hard but forge ahead, there’s nothing to turn back to. You must persevere through the pain to see the dream come true.

There are truths about Dreams and these are my important discoveries:

1. We all have dreams that never come to pass.                                                                                                                                                                                                     Most of our dreams started in our childhood. Some dreams are mistaken for whimsical desire. When we grow older those dreams change and shift into our callings and purpose. Some dreams may start today but may be left for the next generation to fulfil.                                                                                                                                            
2. You are part of someone else’s dream                                                                                                                                                                                                                    In many ways we are all part of the dreams of others. No man is an island. We are all impacted by the dreams of others and sometimes their dreams become our own. There are those who have gone before us who have paid the price so that others could enjoy the success of that dream.                                                                                                 
3. Life is about helping others make their dreams come true                                                                                                                                                                              For many their dream is the great joy of helping other people discover and realize their purpose. Helping others discover what God has placed in them. And mentoring people who only have the dream, but need the steps to achieve it.

What has God planned for you? What kind of dreams does He have for you? What Kind of dream do you have for serving God?
